Manolo Blahnik the Man behind the Name

Designer shoes have always amazed me for not only do they have unique designs but they indeed are very stylish and classy. One of my favorite brands of designer shoes is Manolo Blahnik. Manolo Blahnik designer shoes are creative, have a fantastic play of color combined with perfect line, proportion and balance. Let me give you a quick background of the man behind the famous brand. Born in the Canary Islands to a Spanish mother and a Czech father, Manolo studied languages and art in Geneva before moving to Paris in 1965 where he decided to become a set designer. On a visit to New York in 1970, he showed his theatre designs to Diana Vreeland, then editor-in-chief of American Vogue, who honed in on his shoes and encouraged him to concentrate on them.

Blahnik learnt the art of making shoes by visiting factories where he talked to machine operators, pattern cutters and technicians. By 1971, he was in London making shoes. A year later, Ossie Clark, then the most famous designer in London, used his shoes and from there his career blossomed. In 1973 he opened his first shop in London’s Chelsea.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Blahnik has become one of the world’s most influential footwear designers. His shoes have spellbound in international set of adoring and loyal devotees across the globe. What Men Can Wear On A Rainy Day

A lot of men nowadays have become conscious of the way they dress. Men would also love to be in line with the latest fashion trend. However, since it’s raining almost everyday let me suggest some fashion tips which suit our weather.

According to some of my readings, the rainy season must not hinder us from staying in line with the latest fashion trend. However, protecting ourselves from the rain while staying fashionable at the same time is indeed possible! A good way to go through this rainy season is to wear comfortable clothes.

Rainy day fashion for men include the following. Tees made of cotton fabric are very much suggested. A hooded jacket can protect yourself from the rain even if you don’t have an umbrella. Wearing dark washed denims can avoid rain spatters. Sneakers or boots are also suggested. Flip flops can get you’re feet all wet and dirty. Leather bags are also suggested to protect things from getting wet.

Other men can also try wearing v-neck sweatshirts which are made of prima cotton fabric which can provide comfort during the rainy season. Twill pants can protect legs from cold and rain boots can go well with these. Accessorize your look with a scarf or a leather hat to look more stylish. Rubber flats such as Crocs can also go well with this look.

Staying in line with the latest fashion trend during rainy season is simple just wear comfortable clothes and footwear but be sure to select the ones that can still protect you from the rain.

For busy people like me, I sometimes find it hard pay attention to my looks. Sometimes, people think that dressing presentably is enough. However, there is more to good grooming.
